About this book
Tapper Watson and Fern Shakespeare are both 12 years old but live in different worlds; Tapper is from Eris while Fern is from Earth and their worlds are separated, and linked, by the river Lethe.
The Lethe is beautiful but dangerous. When people die, all their memories go to live in its waters. But, if a living person swallows even one drop of Lethe water, all their memories are consumed by the river.
The only cure might have been the Nemo Machine but it was destroyed years ago. So why are a pair of giant lobsters wielding Medusa blasters (that can turn you to stone) chasing around the Lethiverse trying to find it?
That’s what Tapper and Fern must try to figure out as they embark on death-defying escapades and out-of-this-world adventures.
Although both youngsters are reluctant heroes, they discover that they are capable of much more than anyone could have imagined. Especially when their families are under threat.
Featuring hired assassins, an interworld organised crime gang, a myriad of otherworldly creatures and a talking plant who is rather fond of eggs, Tapper and Fern’s quest is packed with threat, thrills and plenty of laughs.
