About this book
This is the fabulous story of the millionaire family The Bobton-Trents, and most specifically their only child Hubert Horatio Bartle Bobton-Trent. It is the tale of how Hubert became such an incredibly responsible and sensible child due to his woefully irresponsible and senseless parents!
Witty and appealing, this is a beautifully written and highly illustrated chapter book, which is a perfect early reader.
The many beautiful black-and-white illustrations on every page of the book are an integral part of the story and will invite children back to read again and again. It can be happily read cover to cover, or by dipping in at any point to read favourite pages as you might read a comic book.
This is great first chapter book, particularly for children who love Lauren’s picture books, including of course the original Hubert Horatio Bartle Bobton-Trent, published in 2004 (later reprinted as Hubert Horatio Millionaire Child Genius), which tells the story of how Hubert’s parents fritter away their family fortune.
This new chapter book is in some ways prequel to that picture book, set in the days before the family’s money problems unfold. A very fun read!
