About this book
Dave is thrilled when he finally gets his first wobbly tooth although, despite much wiggling and waggling, it seems reluctant to come out.
One morning, when Dave sneezes his biggest ever sneeze, the tooth shoots out of his mouth, catapults across the room and completely disappears. He conducts an extensive search, even looking down the side of the sofa where everything hides, but to no avail.
Dave is concerned as, without a tooth, there will be no coin from the tooth fairy, and he is saving up to buy himself a kite. Then he devises an ingenious plan to solve the problem...
When Afiya, the extremely stylish tooth fairy, receives Dave’s tooth call, she immediately leaps into action – but is startled by what she discovers under his pillow!
This entertaining picture book, featuring BAME (black and minority ethnic) characters, a wheelchair user and a cheery grandson-grandparent relationship, is an absolute delight.
There is a wealth of thoughtful, humorous detail contained within the dynamic illustrations, which provide the reader with an insight into both Dave’s life and Afiya’s magical world. A marvellous book with broad appeal.
