Job purpose

To provide coordination-level support to BookTrust’s work in Wales with a particular focus on the delivery of our Pori Drwy Stori and LetterBox Club programmes. This will include working with key stakeholders, including schools and local authorities, and with colleagues across BookTrust.

Location: Cardiff (with office-based working on two fixed days each week, rest of week choice of office or remote working).

This is a full time, 1-year fixed term maternity cover post

 This post holder will report to: Schools Programme and Engagement Manager

 

Key responsibilities

 

  1. To ensure that relevant programmes and projects in Wales are delivered on time and to a high standard, including liaison with external partners and other BookTrust teams
  2. To coordinate effective regular communications with and resources for our partners including newsletters, the promotion of training events and website content
  1. To manage day-to-day relationships with relevant stakeholders (including schools and local authorities) which support effective delivery of programmes and activities, maintaining positive relationships and an excellent standard of service
  1. To support monitoring and evaluation of our activities, working with our expert research and impact team, coordinating feedback from stakeholders and partners in Wales
  2. To provide core administrative support to ensure the smooth-running of day-to-day activities and services
  3. To provide a professional first point of contact for enquiries to the Cardiff office and management of the Pori Drwy Stori inbox
  4. Carry out all duties in line with BookTrust policies and procedures and be prepared to undertake additional reasonable duties as required.

Knowledge

  1. Knowledge of the Early Years, Schools or Vulnerable Children’s sector in Wales

  1. Understanding of the impact of reading and sharing stories as a driver for social change

Experience

  1. Experience in a coordination role within an organisation delivering national programmes

  1. Experience of developing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of external partners

 

  1. Experience of coordinating training and information sharing events in person and online

  1. Experience of developing written communications including newsletters and web content
