Oi Cat!

Publisher: Hachette Children's Group

Dog and Frog are back and this time it’s Cat who is looking for somewhere to sit. He knows it has to rhyme with cat, but all those seats are taken. Cat has to come up with a different name to rhyme something with, and dog has some great suggestions. Hilarity ensues as alpaca sit on cream crackers and lemurs sit on party streamers.

A third title is added to the unstoppable “Oi Frog” sequence. It works better if you’ve read the others but the rules are quickly explained for newcomers.

It’s a brilliant premise that can run and run, and with such appealing illustrations from Jim Field and such clever rhymes from Kes Gray, here’s hoping it does. The surprise lift-up flap at the end is also a nice addition. Colourful, witty and silly.
