welcome to Bali!

Well, Bali, the news is finally out, and the time has come for me to hand the residency over into your very capable hands. Welcome!

It's a fantastic post. Be sure to have fun with it. Make it yours. I can remember looking back through the archive of former-resident blogs when I began, and being inspired by the fact that each resident who'd gone before me had approached the task in their own very unique way. Now I've come to the end, I think I can fairly say that my blog and other work as resident has represented pretty well my own idiosyncrasies. I've certainly enjoyed it. It's been a lot of work, but a lot of fun.

So I'm excited to see now how you'll tackle things. Your take on the residency will no doubt be different again from those of us who've preceded you. I'll be following along, supporting from the wings - just give me a shout if you need anything.

Booktrust does truly amazing work. It's been an honour and a privilege to be their spokesperson. I'm sad to be leaving, but you'll do a brilliant job in my place, Bali, I know it.
