Illustration workshop
Posted 14 February 2011
by Polly Dunbar
I spent the weekend up in Newcastle at Seven Stories. I was running an 'illustration master class' - sounds very grand! It was with a lovely bunch of young artists ages 8-12; again I used my 'scrap paper' technique to spark ideas and characters. They came up with some brilliant stories. I particularly love this snail; he's arrived on the page with such enthusiasm.
I took along my very old toy mouse, Michael, to show the class. Here are the 'mouse size' books I made for him to read (when I had little hands!).

There's so much to say about Seven Stories I'm going to write another post...coming soon!
