Gift Aid

You can make your donation go even further at no extra cost
If you are a UK tax payer, you can make every £1 you give - or have given in the past four years - worth 25p more, just by telling us.
The government's Gift Aid scheme allows Booktrust's to reclaim tax on donations, so you can make an even bigger difference.
For your donations to be eligible for Gift Aid you must be a UK tax payer. Gift Aid is linked to the current basic rate of income tax (currently this is 20%). As a basic rate taxpayer, for example, every £1.25 you earn, you will pay 25p in tax and receive £1 in your pocket. It is this 25p we are able to claim back.
You will have needed to pay enough income or capital gains tax in the financial year to cover the amount that we will reclaim.
How to make a Gift Aid declaration
If you are making a donation online, then making your Gift Aid declaration couldn't be easier. At the point of making your donation all you need to do is tick the box saying 'I want to create a Gift Aid declaration'.
If you prefer to send a cheque in the post, then please include a Gift Aid declaration form
