Charity partners

Waterstones, James Patterson in partnership with Random House and The View from The Shard have all chosen the Children's Reading Fund as their Charity Partner for 2013.

 

Supporters

Waterstones are Founding Partners for the Children's Reading Fund and have selected the Fund as their charity partner for 2013. They will be working with Booktrust on raising funds to help disadvantaged children across the UK, particularly focusing on children in care. Waterstones' staff have a tremendous track record in fundraising both in-store and at national and international challenge events.

James Patterson in partnership with Random House are Founding Partners for the Children's Reading Fund, helping to establish the Fund with a large donation in January 2013. James will also be involved with a number of the Fund's activities during the year including the Let's Get Dads Reading campaign.

The View from The Shard are launch sponsors for the Children's Reading Fund and have selected the Fund to be their charity partner for their first year. The Fund was launched at a special reception in the viewing galleries at the top of the Shard - the tallest building in Western Europe - in advance of it opening to the general public in February 2013.

What can partnering with the Children's Reading Fund do for you?


The key brand message for the Children's Reading Fund is change the story for disadvantaged children in the UK by giving them the hope of a better and brighter future. 



The Fund has a national reach with high profile ambassadors, events and a national press campaign coordinated by Booktrust's highly experienced press and communications team. We also have an extensive regional events programme able to involve and support activity at a local level coordinated by our regional managers who operate across the country.

 


Celebrity endorsement is a key part of the Children's Reading Fund with Cerrie Burnell, James Patterson, Gaby Roslin, Dan Snow, Lemn Sissay and Joanna Trollope all signed up as ambassadors.

 

Thanks to the generosity of a number of authors, illustrators and publishers the Fund will also be supported by three beloved characters from children's books - Tracy Beaker, Matilda and Zog.


 

We know that effective charity partnerships depend on engaging staff throughout the organization and Booktrust will work with all our corporate partners in devising a range of activities and events for staff including specific activities for individual outlets or offices, inhouse and third party challenge events and local projects, events and campaigns.


 

The Children's Reading Fund will develop a number of branded items for sale by corporate partners. Current ideas include audio books and poetry apps featuring a number of celebrities Children's Reading Fund bags, mugs and tshirts featuring the Fund logo and some of our children's characters.


 

Booktrust will work with all our corporate partners to help you raise funds for the Children's Reading Fund. We would expect funds to come from a number of sources including donations from your customers - donations to the Children's Reading Fund can be matched pound for pound in 2013 by Arts Council England's Catalyst Scheme (up to a maximum of £60,000), contribution from sales from individual items or product lines, merchandising featuring the Children's Reading Fund, charity auctions with prizes from our celebrity supporters and staff fundraising activities.
