When strange things start to happen, including the disappearance of her new teacher Mr Underwood, Alex sets forth determined to solve the mysteries.
So follows a series of exciting and madcap adventures, while Alex endeavours to find the legendary Wigpowder treasure (and Mr Underwood).
This is a highly entertaining story full of excitement and zany characters (including a talking fridge). It is fast paced, funny and delights in the richness of the English language, with a style reminiscent of the Lemony Snicket series.
A thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying read.
