Booked Up is run by Booktrust and supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
It is inspired by, and builds on the success of, the national Bookstart and Booktime programmes, which aim to provide free books to every baby and reception pupil in the UK.
Booked Up’s goal is to encourage and support reading for pleasure among children in the Year 7 age group, by providing each Year 7 in England with a free book from a list of 12 specially selected titles.
We are delighted that the Department for Children, Schools and Families has decided to continue their support of Booktrust’s three book-gifting programmes and we successfully launched Booked Up at the beginning of June with an exclusive in the Times and lots of other press coverage. To see more, go to the Booked Up website.
We are currently registering Booked Up coordinators for this year’s programme. If you work with Year 7-aged pupils and need to register, you can do either through the website, or by calling customer services on 0845 606 4262.
For any other information about the programme, you can either email jody.quickfall@booktrust.org.uk or call 020 8875 4820.
