She discovers something very sinister about her ‘other mother’, who has trapped her real parents and plans to keep the family there forever.

As Coraline tries to escape, she is faced with a fantastical series of macabre and bizarre situations. Excellently written, and superbly original, Coraline is well suited to those who enjoy reading about the weird and the wonderful with a dash of horror and humour.It is destined to become a classic modern fairytale.
