New events and publishing partnership for the Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story 2012 Award

New events and publishing partnership for the Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story 2012 Award
1 November 2011

The Sunday Times and Waterstone's have announced a new campaign around the 2012 Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story Award. In the run-up to the announcement of the winner in March 2012,  Waterstone's will host an exclusive series of readings in their Piccadilly store;  the six stories shortlisted for the Award will be performed  by leading actors in association with WordTheatre and supported by EFG Private Bank, with a Q&A with the writers and judges.

In addition, Waterstone's will publish a small-format anthology and produce an e-book featuring a selection of stories to celebrate the shortlist, which will be available in stores throughout the country. Both the print and e-edition will be available from March 4th, when the shortlist is announced.

Cathy Galvin, Prize Director and Deputy Editor of The Sunday Times Magazine, comments:

'The readings will give the public a chance to listen to some of the finest short stories crafted by writers from around the world and performed by respected actors.'

Fiona Allen, Head of PR and Events at Waterstone's, comments:

'We are thrilled to be publishing and selling the book of the Award, which, based on previous years, will contain wonderful stories by some incredible writers.'
