Julia Donaldson up for award!

Congratulations to Children's Laureate, Julia Donaldson, who has been shortlisted for the Scottish Children's Book Awards 2012.

She has been nominated in the three- to seven-year-old category for her book, Jack and the Flum Flum Tree.

Children across Scotland will get the chance to vote in the awards and have from June 25 2012 until December 31 to cast their votes.

She said: 'I'm thrilled and delighted that Jack and the Flum Flum Tree has been shortlisted for this year's Scottish Children's Book Awards.

'It's wonderful to be part of an award that gives so many young people the opportunity to discover the joy of books - from the reading and the judging, to entering the review competition and watching the magnificent winners ceremony - all of these activities combine to give children a real sense of the pleasure that books can bring.'

Voting will take place through participating schools.
