New writing fellowships

If you're an aspiring unpublished author, you might be interested in these fellowships currently on offer at UEA, one of the country's best hubs for creative writing.

 

UEA's creative writing programmes have produced exceptional writers like Joe Dunthorne, Ian McEwan and Kazuo Ishigiuo. You could be one of the alumni as UEA is currently looking for authors (published and unpublished) to apply for their fellowships.

 

Creative Writing Fellowships at the University of East Anglia

David TK Wong Fellowship - Deadline 16 January 2012

A year-long residential fellowship with an award of £26,000. Applications will be considered from established published as well as unpublished writers of any age and any nationality and will be awarded to a writer planning to produce a work of prose fiction in English which deals seriously with some aspect of life in the Far East.

 

Applicants must submit 2,500 words of unpublished work which they plan to undertake during the fellowship. Application fee is £10.00.

Charles Pick Fellowship - Deadline 31 January 2012

A six-month residential fellowship with an award of £10,000. Applicants must be writers of fictional or non-fictional prose in English who have not yet published a book. Applicants can be writers of any age and any nationality.

 

Applicants must submit 2,500 words of published work which they plan to undertake during the fellowship. All applicants must provide a reference from an editor, agent or accredited teacher of creative writing.

Charles Pick South Asian Fellowship - Deadline 31 January 2012

A six-month residential fellowship with an award of £10,000. Applicants must be writers of fictional or non-fictional prose based in South Asia. The writer should be from South Asia, but does not need to be domiciled there.

 

Applicants must submit 2,500 words of published work which they plan to undertake during the fellowship. All applicants must provide a reference from an editor, agent or accredited teacher of creative writing.
