Books we like: August 2012
This month, check out Why We Broke Up - a frank, quirky and bittersweet story of first love and first heartbreak from US author Daniel Handler. Mark Haddon returns with The Red House, the tale of two families who come together for a holiday in an isolated cottage, whilst Sadie Jones tells an unusual ghost-story in The Uninvited Guests.
Fans of dystopia will be sure to enjoy Bethany Griffin's dark reimagining of an Edgar Allan Poe short story, Masque of the Red Death, whilst if you like Game of Thrones you'll love Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas - the first in a high-octane fantasy series about a deadly teenage assassin. Closer to home, and one year after the London riots, John Lucas offers up his take on London, youth and gang culture in the hard-hitting Turf.
