Books we like: May 2012

From odd dogs to cool cats, there's a wealth of new picture books to share and enjoy this month. Take to the streets of Paris with Barroux in the stylish Mr Leon's Paris or explore a vivid undersea world in Julia Donaldson's newest picture book The Singing Mermaid with bright and bold illustrations by Lydia Monks. Meanwhile there are some great new books for older readers too, from a delightful new offering from Linda Newbery to  RJ Palacio's moving and unusual debut Wonder.
