Blue Peter Book Awards 2012 Competition Winners

Find out who won this year's Blue Peter Book Awards competition

For this year's Blue Peter Book Awards competition, we asked you to send us your reviews of your favourite book from the shortlist for the Best Children's Book of the Last 10 Years. It was a tough task to choose the winners from all the fantastic entries - but we can now reveal the winning reviews:

Winner - Becky Hand

I think The Austere Academy by Lemony Snicket is an amazing book because it is full of adventure and mystery and when you think you know what's going to happen next there is a complete twist in the plot which adds even more excitement! Violet, Klaus and Sunny are such interesting characters with amazing talents which always ends up saving them in the end. The plot of the story is really exciting when they go to Prufrock Preparatory - and the events that happen to them while they're there are weird, wacky but really wonderful!

Runner Up - Rebecca Irvine

My favourite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. I thought it was the best because it makes everyone laugh. It should be on everyone's bookcase. You'll ache with laughter for its exciting moments. Jeff Kinney is a marvellous author. The book also includes hilarious comedy drawings. The main characters are Greg, his mum and dad, his brothers Manny and Rodrick and his best friend Rowley. Greg starts middle school with Rowley - although Greg is small and skinny, can he be class favourite? Life is never boring for Greg, but it's really funny to read!
