The Mummy Shop
by
Abie Longstaff
Illustrated by Lauren Beard
One little boy is feeling very cross with his mummy, so when he sees an advert for ‘The Mummy Shop’ he decides to give them a ring. They promises the perfect mummy, but after multiple mishaps with a rabbit who only cooks carrots, a sheep who knits woollen underpants and a hedgehog who can’t cuddle it’s starting to look like the perfect mummy doesn’t exist, until he realises he’s known her all along.
This sweet story acknowledges that sometimes children can feel frustrated with their family, but at the end of the day nothing can compare to your own mummy. Children will love the silly scenarios and sentimental mums will delight in the heart-warming message. A book to share for sure.
