Long Reach

by Peter Cocks

When Eddie's brother Steve is discovered face down in the mud at Long Reach, the official line is that Steve committed suicide. But Eddie refuses to believe that his heroic elder brother killed himself, and soon discovers that Steve was in fact doing dangerous undercover work for the police.

Eddie soon finds himself following in Steve's footsteps, signing up to work undercover for a self-contained, information gathering department. His new job begins with an intensive week of gruelling training, and then he's plunged straight into his assignment - to infiltrate the Kelly family to learn more about the notoriously violent kingpin, Tommy Kelly. To do this he'll have to get to know the boss's beautiful daughter Sophie, and convince the Kellys and their associates that he can be trusted. But as Eddie finds himself sinking further and further into Kelly business, the danger of discovery grows.

A tense, hard-hitting thriller packed with graphic, high-octane violence, the first in the Eddie Savage series will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Set within real locations across South London, Long Reach is a pacy, accessible young adult crime novel, with a convincing teenage protagonist and plenty of macho scenes of fighting and drinking that are likely to particularly appeal to a male readership.
