Penguin's Hidden Talent
by Alex Latimer
It's the annual Talent Show. Penguin's friends are practicing hard but Penguin isn't sure what his talent should be.
Albatross suggests Penguin swallows a huge marlin. But he can only manage a sardine. Bear persuades Penguin to juggle kitchen appliances. But he gets a toaster stuck up a tree. Penguin can't even burp the alphabet like Fox. So he draws posters, sends emails and polishes the trophy. All Penguin's friends receive prizes. But Penguin is sad, so his friends throw a party to cheer him up. It's a wash-out because Penguin hasn't organised it. Then Penguin realises he is a brilliant party planner.
This warm and witty book shows that everyone has their own special talents, even though they may not win medals. With appealing illustrations of all the animal characters, Penguin's Hidden Talent highlights the importance of friendship, encouragement and individuality.
