Return to King Solomon's Mines

Luke Challenger has been expelled from school and sent to join his mother in Africa. Fortunately, that's just where he wants to be.

Now Luke, his cousin Nick and new friend Salim - an Ethiopian prince- must locate the legendary King Solomon's mines and destroy a spear with invincible magical power.

Luke's arch enemies, the Sons of Destiny, also want to lay their hands on the spear and will stop at nothing to get it. With this artefact they plan to help Mussolini's armies build an Italian empire in Africa and ultimately dominate the world.

While touching on the exploitation of Africa by Western Europe, this is an entertaining, action-packed adventure in the style of Indiana Jones, and none the worse for that.
