The Cry of the Wolf

The Hunter is a cold, cruel man who lives only to kill rare animals and collect their skins. When the Hunter discovers that a pack of English wolves, long thought to be extinct, live in the Surrey countryside, he resolves to kill them all at any cost.

Despite the Hunter’s ruthless pursuit of the wolves, one named Greycub manages to evade him. Greycub finds shelter and protection with a boy called Ben and his family, but once the wolf is fully grown, he realises he must strike out on his own – soon the roles of the hunter and the hunted are reversed.

This is a well written and poignant book from an award-winning author. Much of the action is seen from Greycub’s perspective, which makes a sad and thought-provoking read.
