Socks Are Not Enough

by Mark Lowery

Things are not going well for Michael Swarbrick and he doesn't want to talk about it. His parents have become nudists, his hateful older brother is going out with none other than Lucy King and now he's expected to go to counselling sessions with 'Chas', an 80s has-been, to relive all the horrible events which brought him here in the first place. Can it possibly get any worse...?

This is a hilarious and entertaining story right from the start. Older children will identify with Michael's cringing embarrassment as he is encouraged to deal with his feelings by 'chatting with Chas'. Michael's descriptions of people and his interpretation of events are laugh-out loud funny. A hugely enjoyable read.
