There are 14 dinosaur contestants, brilliantly coloured and just recognisable for their individual species. The dinosaurs in their dance clothes are as lively as the rhyming couplets, and there’s extra entertainment from the tiny non-dino judges, who lurk in the corner of occasional spreads, being picked off one-by-one by a green dinosaur claw!
There’s a great deal of detail in the illustrations which adds to the simple story, and invites careful scrutiny and discussion.
