The Highway Rat
by
Julia Donaldson
Illustrated by Axel Scheffler
'Give me your buns and your biscuits! Give me your chocolate éclairs! For I am the Rat of the highway, and the Rat Thief never shares!'
A rollicking rhyme in the style of Alfred Noyes' famous poem 'The Highwayman', this is the story of the villainous Highway Rat, who gallops along the highway stealing food from other animals - clover from a rabbit, nuts from a squirrel, and even his own horse's hay. But when he encounters a cunning duck, will the dastardly Rat finally get his comeuppance?
With distinctive illustrations full of fun and character by Julia's long-time collaborator Axel Scheffler.
