Grace at Christmas

'As long as Grace could remember it had been just her, Ma and Nana for Christmas.'  And Grace adores Christmas; the routine of their day with church, presents and the Christmas story re-enacted under the fairy lights.  

So Grace is horrified when Ma announces this year friends will be staying: a stranger will sleep in Grace’s room. When they arrive Savannah is quiet, reserved – almost ungrateful. Then Grace discovers her crying: Savannah is missing her own Christmas rituals. Later, Savannah’s ballet dancer Aunt Rosalie arrives; she dances, also acts in their Christmas story, and Grace realises it’s even more fun with lots of people.
