Zero To Hero

by Rob Childs

Simon prefers watching the kingfishers down by the river to playing football. But when he is dragged along with his brothers who want some shooting practice, he discovers, to his and everyone else’s surprise, that he is rather a good goalkeeper. And so it is that, as the school cup final approaches, a reluctant Simon, along with his new friend Ollie, finds himself on the team. Does he have what it takes to help The Reds win the cup?

This latest story from Rob Childs will be snapped up by young football fans. All young readers, whether sporty or not, will recognise familiar characters and situations.

It is an engaging tale of friendship, while at the same time raising the important issues of bullying and self confidence.
