Horrid Henry

by Francesca Simon

Stories about naughty characters have been told for centuries. Horrid Henry is a modern-day rogue in the tradition of Dennis the Menace, Pippi Longstocking, Just William and My Naughty Little Sister.

Sibling rivalry is explored as Henry is continually compared with his brother, Perfect Peter. The many titles in the Horrid Henry series offer a way for children to think about how they themselves behave. Comparing themselves positively against Henry will encourage children to feel good about their own ability to understand how other people feel.
