Big Book of My World
by Kali Stileman
A book for carers and toddlers to share which covers many learning situations: counting, shapes, colours, sounds, opposites, feelings, manners, favourite things, with a constant emphasis on vocabulary expansion, and activities to reinforce this learning.
Carers are encouraged to enjoy the pictures with their children first of all, and then encourage them to revisit the pages on their own to explore their world.
Bold, brightly coloured images (which always include owls) are used to maximum effect, offering attractive, easily interrogated spreads, with plenty of detail and humour to entertain the very youngest readers.
Some activities which would be better used between carer and child, but all the images would encourage a child to investigate, identify, talk and play.
