The book is also punctuated with top-trumps style facts about other ‘wonders of the animal kingdom’ dreamed up by Terry Jones, which includes Money Salamanders, The Fake Elk and The Mongolian Deep-Fried Bat!
Originally written as an adult humour book, children will get most out of reading this collection accompanied by an adult who can explain some of the longer words, whilst also enjoying some of the jokes more in keeping with the grown-up world.

Michael Foreman
Michael Foreman’s numerous books for children have earned him widespread recognition as one of the world’s leading illustrators. He has worked with Terry Jones on his previous titles and also writes and illustrates his own books, including War Boy and War Game, which won the Kate Greenaway and Smarties prize respectively.

Terry Jones is best known as a scriptwriter and member of the Monty Python team. He is a successful historian, performer, director and writer for film, radio and television. His previous children’s books have been enormously popular, including Bedtime Stories, The Knight and the Squire and The Saga of Erik the Viking.
