Batty
by Sarah Dyer
Batty the bat feels unpopular and lonely. All the visitors to the zoo seem to want to visit the other animals more than him, so he tries to fit in where the other animals live.
But with the lions it’s too sunny; it’s too wet with the penguins and there are too many fleas with the gorillas. Feeling sad, Batty flies back home, but wait! There’s a surprise. All the animals he has visited have come to visit him! Batty realises that he may not be good in the sun or in water but he’s great at making friends.
This is a quirky picture book which requires the reader to follow Batty’s upside-down point of view as they read. Great fun.
