The Chocolate Box Girls: Cherry Crush

Book one in the Chocolate Box Girls series

by Cathy Cassidy

A new series from Cassidy, based around a family of step-sisters, each of whom will be the central character in one of these pre-teen/teen novels.

Cherry’s single dad has found a new love, but when he and Cherry move to live with her, there are four daughters already in the family, one of whom is not welcoming.

As a defence, Cherry creates a fantasy about her mother and her life, and it is only when she begins to feel secure that she can admit to reality.

Cassidy’s first-person narrative style is easily accessible, pacy, humorous and justly popular with young teen readers. She addresses themes highly relevant to them, enfranchising them to work through their own traumas alongside her characters.
