Rama and Sita: Path of Flames

by

Sally Pomme Clayton
Illustrator: Sophie Herxheimer

Known best as the inspiration for the festival of Diwali, the story exists in many versions although the basic elements endure. This contemporary retelling of how Princess Sita is kidnapped by Ravana, the ten-headed, twenty-armed Demon King and ultimately rescued by her true love, Rama, exudes excitement and exoticism.

Beautifully presented in easily accessible chapters, the narrative is complemented by equally exotic and dramatic illustrations which revitalise one of the oldest and greatest stories ever told.
