The Princess Who Had No Kingdom

by

Ursula Jones
Illustrator: Sarah Gill

A princess and her loyal pony, Pretty, spend their lives travelling here, there and everywhere, searching for the princesses' kingdom.

The princess is beautiful and polite but, as she has no land or money, is rejected by all of the other royal families she meets. It takes an encounter with a humble court jester, who declares her the queen of his heart, for the princess to discover where her kingdom really lies.

This is a delightfully illustrated picturebook - delicate, colourful illustrations are mixed with gorgeous silhouettes and there is much to discover in each detailed spread. The text has a gently humorous edge, which gives the story a contemporary feeling and is perfect for reading aloud.
