Fortunately Unfortunately

by Michael Foreman

The day Milo the Monkey tries to return an umbrella to Granny turns into a roller-coaster ride!

He's happy to go - Granny always has cake - but unfortunately it rains: fortunately he's got the umbrella. Unfortunately he walks over a cliff, but fortunately the umbrella becomes a parachute...

So Milo ricochets from triumph to disaster, encountering whales, pirates, typhoons, dinosaurs and aliens (large and small). The umbrella is finally returned filled with pirate treasure, and Milo's day ends happily - doesn't it?

Milo is adorable, the fortunately/unfortunately pattern of the story leads to ever-greater narrative invention and it’s great fun guessing what could possibly happen next. The illustrations use intense colours and page space with great panache.
