Half a Sister

Hannah's life is really boring until she discovers she has a half sister. Ellie comes to live with Hannah's family, and at first she is a good friend. She helps Hannah with her troubled school friendships, gives her advice and spends time with her.

But soon Ellie reveals another side to her character. She smokes, lies, steals, gets Hannah into trouble with her parents and ridicules her before her friends.

Hannah plots how to take Ellie back to her own mother in France. There, in a mental institution in Paris, she discovers the secret behind Ellie’s strange behaviour.

Fortunately, all turns out for the best in this tense, psychological tale of adult and juvenile relationships.
