Who's in the Garden?

by

Phillis Gershator
Illustrator: Jill McDonald

The inviting patchwork of colours used throughout this celebration of a British garden, will immediately draw young readers into its pages.

Rabbits hop between rows of carrots, frogs leap across a strawberry patch and squirrels, moles and even a tortoise make appearances too.

There are cut-out holes on each page, so that children can peek through and identify which animal will appear next and really get involved in the reading of the book.

The textures and collage techniques used in each spread will make readers want reach out and touch each page, while the vibrant colours help to convey a real sense of joy about the great outdoors.

A good book for sharing and great way of teaching a child the names of the animals, flowers and vegetables they may see in their own park or garden.
