The Rumblewick Letters: Rumblewick and the Dinner Dragons

Book two of the Rumblewick Letters series

by

Hiawyn Oram
Illustrator: Sarah Warburton

In a companion series to the Rumblewick Diaries, the unwilling witch's cat now reveals further dreadful dilemmas in letters to his best friend Grimey.

This time Haggy Aggy wants to befriend and protect dragons, and Rumblewick tries to minimise the danger that might bring. With amazing ingenuity, and some terrible puns, he succeeds rather too well, and the dragons become their new best friends.

Oram’s text is lively and entertaining, peppered with wordplay which will engage and inspire young readers. Her use of letters also serves as inspiration for literacy activities.

Warburton’s illustrations are highly colourful, full of action, extra detail and quirky humour, with well-integrated paper-engineering, thereby providing many additional clues to the text and great opportunities for discussion.
