Morris the Mankiest Monster
by
Giles Andreae
Illustrator: Sarah McIntyre
Morris is a happy little chappie who wants to be your friend. The only problem is that he's smelly, dirty, scabby, stinky and crusty.
There's nothing he likes better than a long bath in the sewage canal, followed by a snack of pickled toenail clippings and freshly harvested bogies, washed down with some belly button cordial. Yum yum.
Gloriously graphic illustrations capture warm yellow wax oozing from Morris's ears, fresh slugs slithering around his rotten teeth and squirmy potato plants erupting from his pants.
Overflowing with onomatopoeic adjectives, revolting phrases and stomach churning details, Morris will endear himself to children who will relish parents' discomfort as they read aloud this pustulous but poetic tale.
