Purple Class and the Half Eaten Sweater
by
Sean Taylor
Illustrated by Helen Bate
Purple Class’s exasperated teacher, Mr Wellington, tries to combine education with fun in his classroom throughout these four frantic school stories.
Introducing the class to a professional cricketer, taking them on an adventure trip away and staging a drama assembly are amongst some of the activities Mr Wellington has up his sleeve.
However, his mischievously high-spirited yet well-meaning pupils manage to cause unmitigated mayhem at every turn, by unwittingly destroying Mr Wellington’s treasured sweater, mistakenly identifying a werewolf and hoolah-hooping off the assembly stage.
Each story perceptively captures the comical idiosyncrasies inherent within most schools as well as the joy of classroom camaraderie through its witty dialogue and lively narrative.
