Bottoms Up!

by

Jeanne Willis
Illustrator: Adam Stower

A celebration of bottoms! Knickers are always hilarious to the young (and, secretly, their elders), but in her latest offering Willis questions the need for them.

Firmly supporting rebellious toddlers who remove their clothing whenever they can, she celebrates bottoms, willies, bazoomers and beneaths, arguing that animals don't hide their bits, so why should babies?

Stower's funny, brightly coloured, energetic illustrations enlarge on Willis's rhyming text, imagining amazing situations among underwear-endowed animals.

Particularly entertaining are the penguins, marching behind a panda in their pants, closely followed by a python who appears already to have eaten the end of the procession!

Empowering stuff and ideal for a bedtime read or an in-depth unravelling of the text and pictures.
