Hate that Cat

Jack loves words and admires a range of poets. He has an excellent and encouraging English teacher in Miss Stretchberry. His mum is deaf, but she can feel rhythm and make words with her hands. She is proud of Jack’s poems, however, his uncle is pompous and opinionated.

We learn all this just by reading this book of ‘Jack’s’ poems. He is a funny, gifted and touching writer.

The poems that have influenced Jack are printed at the back together with a bibliography of the books ‘Miss Stretchberry’ has used in her classroom.
