Princess Grace

Grace has always dreamed of being a princess and when there’s a competition to select a princess for a school parade, it creates wild excitement. But when Nana needs to know what costume to make, Grace isn’t sure.

What do princesses really wear – and do?  A little research uncovers princesses who are warriors, spies, sportswomen and artists. Somehow, now a pink floaty dress seems wrong. Nana saves the day with a stunning costume for Grace made from Gambian Kente cloth. The other children – girls and boys – are similarly inspired.

A welcome reappearance by Grace and family in this simple but engaging story which proves that a princess is what she makes herself to be, accompanied by warmly detailed illustrations of school and home.
