Billy's Beetle

by

Illustrator: Mick Inkpen

Billy has lost his beetle. He can't find it anywhere. However, the reader can gleefully watch the beetle climb down Billy's shorts and up the trouser leg of the man with the sniffy dog.

Billy is joined by a host of helpful beetle-hunters, including a polar bear, a hedgehog and an oompah band. Then Billy himself gets lost. Just when his friends have found his beetle.

Gloriously expressive illustrations and hugely unlikely scenarios combine to great effect in this classic tale which will appeal to even the smallest toddlers, to new readers and also to adults choosing bedtime stories. The intrepid beetle can be spotted on every page but it takes the hedgehog to locate it, finally, on the sniffy dog's head.
