The Beatrice Letters
by Lemony Snicket
Published to supplement A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Beatrice Letters consists of two folders presented in a hard cover containing a large double sided poster and a notebook of correspondence between Lemony Snicket and Beatrice Baudelaire, to whom all the books in the series are dedicated. It is not so much a book as a mystery, to be solved by spotting numerous clues and solving a number of puzzles and anagrams using the pictures and press-out letters included.
Readers will learn more about Count Olaf and the Baudelaire family as information is revealed in typical Snicket style with plenty of obscure references and dry humour. Fans of the Unfortunate Events books will love The Beatrice Letters but non-initiates will just be left reeling and confused!
