Barnaby Grimes: Curse of the Night Wolf

by

Paul Stewart
Illustrator: Chris Riddell

Barnaby Grimes is an agile and dapper tick-tock lad, leaping across the rooftops of the city to deliver messages. He mixes with a Dickensian array of characters in the city's pubs, flats and along the canal.

Amongst these, the animal specialist Professor Pinkerton-Barnes, the pretty girl from the fashion store selling the exquisite and expensive Westphalian-trim and his friend, Old Benjamin the coachman.

When Barnaby has a terrifying brush with a ferocious beast, and then Benjamin disappears, he meets with Dr Cadwallader whose famous cordial appears to have such rejuvenating properties.

A thriller and horror story from the unmistakable pens of Stewart and Riddell makes a great read and visual treat for all. Waved in front of wavering boy-readers, it is especially likely to hit the spot.
