A Place for Middle
by

Middle is the middle sibling in a family of monsters. He's not the best at things, nor has he the excuse of being the youngest – so he sets out to try to find his place in life.
When he loses the middle of his sandwich, and sees a bridge with no middle, he realises that things without a middle are no use at all, and he happily returns to his middle-size place at home.
With humorous artwork slightly reminiscent of Sendak's Wild Things, and a simple rhyming text, this is an attractive and reassuring picturebook for bedtimes, and especially for 'middlies' of any age, showing the vital role they play in family life, which wouldn't be the same without them.
