Princess for a Day

Clementine is pink and girly, an egocentric older sister. When she announces her wish to be princess for a day, younger brother Mungo has his work cut out.
A master in the servant's role, Mungo creates a platter of exquisite petit fours, conjures princessly robes, harnesses the pet cats for the royal carriage and provides top entertainment including an unkissable frog.
Author and publisher have thought of every tasteful foil, glitter and add-on sparkle that impressionable children and adults could want – even enclosing a princess crown.
Thankfully these support rather than cheapen the quality of the illustrations. Use of collage, delicious colour and tasteful patterning make this a wish-fulfilling package.
Clementine and Mungo are wide-mouthed, furry-eared characters, combining cute with alien, as befits child-character alter egos.
