The Lamb Who Came For Dinner

by

Steve Smallman
Illustrator: Joelle Dreidemy

When Lamb turns up on Wolf's doorstep, he sees her as meals on wheels… However, as it emerges that she is cold, lonely, hungry and sleepy, he defers the fatal hour, until he finds that he could never eat something which shows such gratitude and affection for him.

A delightful book about a developing friendship between the most unlikely of companions. At the outset Wolf is wonderfully evil, and Lamb totally innocent and vulnerable, but by the book's end, he has developed a conscience, and realised the satisfaction of being loved rather than feared, and Lamb has a found a protector and a home.

A reassuring story for small readers, much enhanced by the energetic, bright and very funny illustrations.
